ABO Energy Achieves Record Year with Last German Wind Tender in 2024

The final tariff tender for wind energy in Germany for 2024 has concluded, marking a record year for ABO Energy. The Wiesbaden-based company successfully secured tariffs for four new projects, including Öhringen-Karlsfurtebene and Himmighofen-Kasdorf, offering a combined capacity of nearly 59 megawatts. These projects are expected to contribute to the climate-friendly energy supply from 2026.

This last round saw 348 bids accepted out of 4.1 gigawatts total capacity, highlighting a 50% oversubscription. ABO Energy's achievements this year include securing tariffs for roughly 200 megawatts, a 30% increase from the previous year. Their permits could exceed 300 megawatts, almost double the record set in 2023.

The company's success is attributed to team efforts and legislative changes, positioning the German wind market as a strong pillar for future profit growth. Dr. Thomas Treiling, Managing Director, emphasizes that this expansion strengthens Germany's energy security and economy.
