ABO Energy Connects 20 MW Solar Farm to Hungarian Grid
ABO Energy has successfully connected a 20 megawatts solar farm to Hungary's grid. Situated near Szarvas in Southeast Hungary, this marks the largest project by ABO Energy in the country to date. A sale is expected in the first half of 2025. Development began in 2021, securing land, grid connections, and permits by the end of 2023. Construction completed in October 2024. The solar farm will annually produce 38,000 megawatt hours, enough for 12,600 households.
Besides Szarvas, ABO Energy is constructing three other projects in Hungary. Near Szolnok, two solar farms totaling 14 megawatts are nearly finished, while a 12-megawatt farm in Karcag aims for grid connection in February 2025. In April, ABO sold rights to a 250-megawatt project in Balotaszállás. Additionally, a 9-megawatt project near Szakoly has been operational since April.
ABO Energy's Hungarian subsidiary, founded in 2019, saw growth in 2024, marking it as their most successful year with over 500 MW developed and partial construction, adding five projects to the grid.
