ABO Energy Partners with Encavis in Wind Farm Expansion
ABO Energy GmbH, based in Wiesbaden, has announced an expansion of its partnership with Hamburg’s Encavis. The collaboration advances with the sale of the Schierenberg wind farm in Brandenburg and a cooperation agreement for four additional wind farms. Schierenberg includes eight Vestas V150 turbines, each generating six megawatts.
The new projects, located in North Rhine-Westphalia, Rhineland-Palatinate, and Saarland, will contribute to a total capacity of 106.2 megawatts. Construction is ongoing, with operations expected between autumn 2026 and spring 2027. ABO Energy will manage these wind farms, producing roughly 300,000 megawatt hours annually, enough for 180,000 people, and reducing CO2 emissions by about 225,000 tonnes each year.
Sebastian Sprengart of ABO Energy highlighted the strong relationship with Encavis, while Encavis CEO Mario Schirru emphasized the collaboration’s importance for expanding their wind portfolio.
