Aclara Resources Reports 77% Increase in Inferred Mineral Resources at Carina Module
Aclara Resources Inc. (TSX:ARA) announced a significant update to its mineral resource estimate for the Carina Module in Goiás, Brazil. The inferred resources now stand at 298 Mt, reflecting a 77% increase from the 168 Mt reported in December 2023.
The estimate for magnetic elements, critical for permanent magnets used in electric vehicles and wind turbines, also saw a notable rise. Contained heavy rare earths like dysprosium and terbium increased from 8,240 t to 13,470 t, while light rare earths such as neodymium and praseodymium grew from 49,832 t to 84,565 t.
Aclara's patented metallurgical recovery process demonstrated compatibility with Carina's rare earths, supporting low-cost mining operations. The company also secured additional mining rights adjacent to Carina, further enhancing future exploration and optimization efforts.
Aclara plans to complete an updated preliminary economic assessment by September 2024 and continue its pre-feasibility study. The goal is to advance the Carina Module towards a feasible and sustainable operation, leveraging their "Circular Mineral Harvesting" process.
