Baden-Württemberg Police Launches Fast EV Charging Pilot Project
The Baden-Württemberg police have initiated a pilot project using ADS-TEC Energy's ChargePost for fast EV charging at the Pforzheim motorway station. This system charges electric vehicles swiftly, even with limited grid capacity, enhancing the readiness of police vehicles.
The ChargePost technology, developed in Baden-Württemberg, offers robust IT and operational security. It has an integrated battery capacity of 201 kWh and delivers charging power up to 300 kW or 2 × 150 kW simultaneously.
According to Thomas Strobl, Deputy Minister-President of Baden-Württemberg, the project supports their long-standing investment in modern technologies. Currently, 12% of their police vehicles are electric, and this project is a step towards future-proof policing.
Thomas Speidel, CEO of ADS-TEC Energy, emphasized the importance of charging infrastructure for emergency vehicles, highlighting their experience in battery-buffered fast charging.
