Aéma Groupe Announces Financial Results for FY 2023 Amid Economic Challenges

Aéma Groupe, a leading French insurance and asset management conglomerate, reported its financial outcomes for the fiscal year 2023, underpinning profitable growth despite a challenging economic environment. Founded in 2021 by Macif and AÉSIO mutuelle, and further expanded through acquisitions and affiliations, Aéma Groupe now stands among the top 5 players in the French insurance sector.

In 2023, the group experienced growth in its portfolio, welcoming 130,000 new policyholders, which raised its clientele to over 11.7 million. Despite varying dynamics in its business segments, Aéma Groupe's premium income reached 15.6 billion euros. The non-life and health and personal risk segments saw positive development, although retirement savings faced a decline.

The year also saw an increase in redistribution to policyholders, with payouts exceeding 9.2 billion euros. Aéma Groupe, remaining faithful to its mutualist ethos, continues to deliver substantial benefits to its members.

Despite economic trials, the group maintained a positive net income of 50.9 million euros for 2023, albeit a significant decline from the previous year largely due to impacts from extreme weather events and inflation. However, it displayed resilience with a solvency ratio of 178% and achieved a substantial growth in its assets under management, closing at 203.6 billion euros.

Looking ahead, Aéma Groupe has laid out its 2024-26 strategic plan focusing on consolidating its operational foundations and highlighting its mutualist values. Encapsulated under “Aéma 2026: À vos marques!”, the strategy emphasizes development, synergy, and societal impact ahead of challenging macroeconomic conditions.
