AlayaCare launches $3.2 million AI project to improve home care

AlayaCare, a leading technology platform for home care, today announced its collaboration on a $3.2 million artificial intelligence (AI) project with home care providers Acclaim and Bien Chez Soi. This project will benefit from a co-investment of up to $1.1 million from DIGITAL, Canada's global innovation cluster for digital technologies, to drive the commercialization and adoption of AI solutions created in Canada.

Facing unprecedented challenges in the home care industry, AlayaCare will use language models and predictive algorithms to improve AC Cloud, its expanded health records platform. The addition of AI-based features, such as a smart assistant and risk dashboards, should help automatically identify at-risk patients and reduce adverse events.

Naomi Goldapple, Senior Vice President of Data and Intelligence at AlayaCare, notes that this funding will reduce administrative tasks and increase caregiver capacity by 10 to 15%, while aiming for a 10% reduction in the list of caregivers. waiting for home care for chronic patients.

DIGITAL's investment is part of its Horizon AI program aimed at harnessing the economic potential of applied AI. AlayaCare's collaboration with Acclaim Health, Bien Chez Soi, and Polytechnique Montréal will be essential in developing these improvements. The project will also generate intellectual property and anonymized datasets to drive innovation in the sector.

With these advancements, AlayaCare intends to expand its market share in the $2 billion global home healthcare industry.
