Allied Universal Appoints Loretta Cecil as Global General Counsel

IRVINE, CA / ACCESSWIRE / June 5, 2024 / Allied Universal announced Loretta Cecil will join the organization as global general counsel, effective June 17, 2024. Cecil will act as the chief legal officer, providing strategic legal guidance and overseeing the company's global legal function. She will report directly to Steve Jones, global chairman and CEO at Allied Universal.

Cecil has over 40 years of experience as an executive and legal professional. Most recently, she served as executive vice president and general counsel for Change Healthcare Inc. (Nasdaq:CHNG). At Change Healthcare, she led all legal and compliance support for the company's initial public offering in June 2019. Change Healthcare was later acquired by UnitedHealth Group (NYSE:UNH) in a $13-billion transaction in October 2022.

Jones commented, "Loretta's experience with legal teams at publicly traded and technology-focused companies aligns with Allied Universal's future. Her leadership will help secure our future."

Earlier, Cecil spent more than a decade at McKesson Corporation (NYSE:MCK) and held significant positions at NCR Corporation and AT&T Corp. (NYSE:T). She has received several prestigious awards, including the Corporate Counsel's Women, Power and Influence Lifetime Achievement Award.

Cecil holds a law degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and an undergraduate degree from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is currently on the board of directors of Envision Healthcare.

The announcement follows the retirement of David Buckman after nearly 20 years at Allied Universal. Buckman will assist the transition through the end of the year.
