Alpha Mos SA 2023 annual results: A difficult context but encouraging prospects

Alpha Mos SA presented its financial results for the year 2023, marked by a notable drop in turnover, as well as a deterioration in the main financial indicators. The turnover amounted to €4,505 thousand, down 22% compared to the previous year. This decrease is mainly explained by a slowdown in investments in the agri-food sector, influenced by the global macroeconomic situation, including the war in Ukraine and Israel, as well as by inflation affecting household consumption.

The operating and net results for the year also suffered, with losses amounting to €3,839 thousand and €4,743 thousand respectively. Despite these figures, the company predicts a brighter future thanks to the development of new applications and the improvement of penetration in key accounts, notably with companies such as Coca-Cola and Mengniu in China.

In the MedTech sector, its subsidiary BOYDSense continues to make progress in the development of a breath analyzer for monitoring biomarkers, particularly glucose, with the support of European funding. Although this activity does not yet generate turnover, significant progress has been made, in particular the validation of the effectiveness of the device through a clinical study in partnership with the Toulouse University Hospital.

Despite a financially difficult year, the prospects for new product development and increased market penetration offer Alpha Mos measured optimism for the year 2024. Indeed, the company continues to invest in innovation, particularly in its two main segments, FoodTech and MedTech, which should ultimately contribute to an improvement in financial results.
