Ams OSRAM Sells Sensor Business to Infineon for EUR 570 Million
ams OSRAM AG has announced the sale of its non-optical analog/mixed-signal sensor business to Infineon for EUR 570 million in cash. The transaction is a strategic move to reduce the company's pro-forma leverage ratio from 3.3 to 2.5. The divested business, which generated approximately EUR 220 million in revenue and EUR 60 million in adjusted EBITDA in 2025, is expected to close in Q2 2026.
With this sale, ams OSRAM aims to solidify its position as a leader in Digital Photonics, focusing on intelligent optical semiconductor technologies. The company plans to enhance its investments in photonics with applications in automotive lighting, augmented reality, and AI data centers.
Additionally, the sale contributes to a broader plan to generate EUR 670 million from asset sales, further supporting the company's deleveraging strategy. CEO Aldo Kamper sees this as a step towards becoming a key player in the global digital photonics market.
