Ørsted Adjusts 2025 EBITDA Guidance Amid Offshore Wind Challenges
At Ørsted's extraordinary general meeting, the company provided updates on its business proceedings and financial forecasts. The guidance for its 2025 EBITDA has been revised to DKK 24-27 billion, primarily due to weaker offshore wind speeds impacting earnings by approximately DKK 1.2 billion. Additionally, delays in the Greater Changhua 2b construction project in Taiwan are expected to further impede EBITDA by DKK 0.3 billion. Despite these adjustments, Ørsted maintains its full-year investment guidance.
The company also seeks shareholder authorization for a rights issue to strengthen its capital structure, essential due to fluctuations in the US offshore wind market. This move is supported by the majority shareholder, the Danish State. Furthermore, Ørsted is involved in legal actions concerning a stop-work order for the Revolution Wind project in the US.
Lastly, Ørsted reported setbacks in the Greater Changhua 2b project due to cable damage, resulting in delays but continued progress in partial divestment plans.
