Ascendant Resources to Integrate AI for Exploration at Lagoa Salgada with University of Évora

Ascendant Resources Inc., through its subsidiary Redcorp - Empreendimentos Mineiros, Lda, has entered a partnership with the University of Évora, Portugal, to seek funding for the innovative HYPERMETAL project under the Portugal 2030 program.

The HYPERMETAL project aims to revolutionize polymetallic mineral exploration by integrating hyperspectral technology, Artificial Intelligence, and Machine Learning with traditional geochemistry and mineralogy methods. This project will enhance ore characterization through advanced digital modeling, improving exploration efficiency at the Lagoa Salgada site.

A new drill hole will be studied using both conventional and hyperspectral methodologies. AI and Machine Learning will process the data, mapping ore occurrences and alteration zones, leading to precise visualizations of the ore distribution.

Mark Brennan, Executive Chairman of Ascendant, highlighted the significance of integrating cutting-edge AI technologies in mineral exploration. He emphasized that this partnership demonstrates the company’s commitment to innovation and technological advancement within the mining sector.

Additionally, Ascendant announced an extension for Empresa de Desenvolvimento Mineiro to acquire up to a 15% interest in the Lagoa Salgada Project, extending the deadline by 120 days upon fulfillment of specific conditions.
