AUSTRIAN POST H1 2024: Strong Performance Amidst Favourable Conditions
Austrian Post reported a strong first half of 2024, attributed to favourable conditions including elections and currency effects. Group revenue increased by 17.2% to EUR 1,505.2m, with Mail, Parcel & Logistics, and Retail & Bank divisions all showing growth.
Revenue highlights included Mail up 3.5% to EUR 619.0m and Parcel & Logistics growing by 28.1% to EUR 804.9m. The Retail & Bank division saw a 25.0% rise to EUR 95.7m. Excluding Türkiye, overall revenue growth was 10.3%.
EBITDA rose 11.9% to EUR 211.5m, while EBIT increased 10.9% to EUR 105.6m. The Mail division EBIT was EUR 83.0m, up by 6.9%, and Parcel & Logistics EBIT grew by 30.1% to EUR 47.3m. However, Retail & Bank EBIT fell to minus EUR 5.3m due to special IT expenses.
Austrian Post maintains a positive outlook for 2024, expecting revenue to grow in the upper single-digit range and mid-single-digit EBIT growth. Future investments will focus on international logistics infrastructure and e-mobility.
