Mobility Barometer 2025: Swiss population opposes rising costs
The 2025 Mobility Barometer, unveiled by auto-schweiz, highlights the growing concerns of the Swiss regarding mobility. A survey by gfs.bern reveals that 90% of voters are highly interested in transport issues. Congested roads are identified as the main problem, with priority given to improving infrastructure and public transport.
Cars remain a crucial means of transportation for 60% of respondents. Although 70% link car use to environmental issues, a majority are considering purchasing partially or fully electric vehicles. However, concerns about battery range and recycling persist.
Thomas Rücker, CEO of auto-schweiz, emphasizes the need for concrete solutions to address these concerns. Regarding costs, 66 percent of respondents believe that mobility should not become more expensive. Auto-schweiz President Peter Grünenfelder advocates financial relief for households and businesses, rejecting any idea of tax increases.
