Auto-suisse recommends relaxation of CO2 standards
At the extraordinary general meeting in Glattfelden, auto-suisse strongly criticized the new CO2 regulations. The Swiss automobile industry, as the country's third largest import sector, is calling for a reassessment of federal policies. Although supporting net zero by 2050, the association insists on the need to take into account market reality.
Peter Grünenfelder, President of auto-suisse, highlights the decline in sales of electric cars. He advocates a more flexible timetable for CO2 standards so as not to harm the economy and mobility. The association is working for the adoption of the national road safety steps, stressing their importance for road safety and the Swiss economy.
The steering committee was expanded with the election of Sergio Solero and Helmut Ruhl, reflecting the increase in auto-suisse members.
