Switzerland faces savings challenges, according to a Baloise study
A study conducted by Baloise in cooperation with YouGov reveals that less than half of Swiss people manage to save. Despite 79% considering savings crucial, only 47% have been able to save recently. Regional disparities are marked: 50% of German-speaking Swiss save, compared to only 31% in Ticino.
Regarding pension planning, 71% have a savings account and only 31% opt for investments in securities. Young people are showing increased interest in stocks. However, gaps in financial education are worrying, with 69% considering school training in this area insufficient.
When it comes to the future, uncertainty dominates. Although 57% are satisfied with their current situation, only 44% feel confident about the future, mainly due to concerns about retirement provision.
