Commerzbank Maintains SREP Capital Requirements for 2025
Commerzbank has announced that the European Central Bank's Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP) capital requirements will remain unchanged for 2025. The bank's Pillar 2 capital requirement (P2R) remains at 2.25%, with an additional leverage ratio requirement of 0.1%.
As of September 2024, Commerzbank's Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) ratio stood at 14.82%, surpassing the Maximum Distributable Amount (MDA) threshold of 10.31%. CEO Bettina Orlopp expressed confidence in maintaining a solid capital buffer, ensuring continued shareholder capital returns.
The MDA threshold includes a CET1 minimum of 4.5% and various capital buffers, totaling 10.31% of risk-weighted assets. Commerzbank's leverage ratio requirement of 3.1% is comfortably met by an actual leverage ratio of 4.4%.
