BeMetals Reports Progressive Copper Discoveries and Commences Additional Drilling at Pangeni Project, Zambia
BeMetals Corp. revealed the final results from its 2023 drilling campaign at the Pangeni Copper Project, Zambia, with a follow-up drill program recently initiated. The aim is to uncover more high-grade copper zones and expand the mineralization footprint within the D-Prospect area. Highlighted results include multiple zones of copper mineralization found in borehole D14-C1, showing potential hallmarks of large-scale copper deposits akin to those in Zambia's Copperbelt. The follow-up drilling targets extensions and continuity of these findings.
John Wilton, BeMetals' President and CEO, highlighted the successful identification of stacked copper zones from the 2023 drill results. These outcomes underline the D-Prospect's large-scale discovery potential. The company is motivated by comparisons to Barrick Gold Corporation’s Lumwana Copper Mine's geological setting, style, and age. An estimated 1,800 to 2,000 meters of core drilling is currently being undertaken, with results anticipated in Q2 2024. BeMetals notes significant potential for the project, bolstered by the Zambian Copperbelt's exploration investments and strong copper fundamentals.
The 2023 drilling covered relocating bedrock copper anomalies and conducting follow-up core drills. Results from D14-C1 enhance the D-Prospect's potential in line with zones previously identified, demonstrating extensive areas of lower-grade enveloping higher-grade copper mineralization. This pattern is observed in Zambia's Sentinel and Lumwana copper mines. The project, funded by BeMetals and JOGMEC, tests for mineralization extensions and plans further announcements on findings throughout 2024.
