Binzhou Launches Housing "Trade-In" Initiative to Boost Real Estate Market
Binzhou, China, has introduced a "trade-in" housing model to stabilize its real estate market. This initiative, part of the Binzhou Integrated Real Estate Policy Package, aims to stimulate housing upgrades and revitalize existing properties. Spearheaded by six municipal departments, the plan includes mechanisms like developer-led buybacks and state-owned enterprise acquisitions to streamline property swaps.
Since its launch, Binzhou has implemented 37 related policies, accelerated premium projects, and launched promotional campaigns to restore market confidence. From January to July 2026, Binzhou's commercial housing sales area growth ranked second in Shandong Province.
Financially, Binzhou secured 180 million yuan for affordable housing and provided subsidies aiding 510 low-income households. Furthermore, 5,129 shantytown units have been resettled, with the province granting priority financing applications totaling 1.96 billion yuan. Authorities aim to continue refining this policy to meet diverse housing needs.
