bioMérieux, a leader in in vitro diagnostics, and Mérieux NutriSciences, known for their contributions to food safety, have jointly announced the launch of a new Trusted Third Party initiative involving collaborations with major global food industry players. Announced on April 5th, 2024, the initiative aims to enhance consumer safety control systems through a data-driven model. This collaborative effort seeks to address the pressing challenges of safety and quality in the food industry, which continue to pose threats to public health.

The new model, proposed by the two companies, is based on aggregating data confidentially across all partners before combining it with other publicly available data. This approach is envisioned to foster better decision-making and strengthen food safety risk management. The initiative, which initially prioritizes Supplier Risk Management, is expected to explore additional applications in the future.

Key food industry players like Barry Callebaut, Danone, Mars, Mondelēz International, Nestlé, and PepsiCo have actively participated in the model's development. Their contributions have been crucial to the creation and prospective expansion of this innovative model. Through this collaborative effort, bioMérieux and Mérieux NutriSciences are set to welcome more members to expand the reach and impact of this initiative, aiming to advance food industry standards and improve consumer safety.
