BlackBerry and UKM Partner to Enhance Malaysia's Cybersecurity Education
BlackBerry Limited and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) have announced a strategic partnership focusing on fostering Malaysia's digital talent through advanced cybersecurity education and embedded software training. This collaboration, marked by the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), aims to develop the next generation of cyber leaders and engineers in Malaysia.
The MOU outlines a comprehensive framework that supports academic excellence, workforce readiness, and research leadership. It provides students and faculty with industry-relevant training, internships, and globally recognized certifications. This collaboration reflects a commitment to bolstering regional cyber capacity and resilience against digital threats, as highlighted by Canada's Minister of International Trade, The Honourable Maninder Sidhu.
UKM and BlackBerry are also launching the Trustworthy Professionals program, providing cybersecurity training to young people from disadvantaged backgrounds to promote ethical digital skills. The initiative aligns with Malaysia's national policies to advance its digital and economic future.
