BlackRock crosses the 5% threshold at Société Générale
BlackRock, Inc., by letter dated November 14, 2024, announced that it has crossed upwards the threshold of 5% of the voting rights of Société Générale. As of November 12, 2024, the company held 44,345,420 shares, representing 5.54% of the capital and 5.004% of the voting rights. This acquisition includes shares held as collateral.
The move is the result of a market acquisition and an increase in the number of shares held as collateral by BlackRock. The New York-based manager exercises voting rights related to the securities held, unless otherwise indicated by certain clients.
BlackRock also holds ADRs, shares from contracts for differences and shares via a securities lending agreement, totaling a significant position within the Parisian bank.
