BlackRock drops voting rights threshold at Société Générale
On December 12, 2024, New York-based BlackRock, Inc. announced that it had crossed the 5% threshold of Societe Generale's voting rights downwards. This announcement concerns a reduction in shares held as collateral by BlackRock, which acts on behalf of clients and funds under its management. The asset manager now holds 44,030,740 shares, or 5.50% of the capital but only 4.97% of the company's voting rights.
This configuration is partly due to shares assimilated via financial instruments such as "contracts for differences" or due to securities lending and borrowing agreements. The calculation basis is based on a total capital of 800,316,777 shares representing 886,196,788 voting rights.
