BNP Paribas: Results of the SREP 2024 by the ECB
BNP Paribas has received notification from the European Central Bank regarding the "Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process" (SREP) for 2024. This process assesses the capital and leverage ratio requirements for the group.
As of January 1, 2025, the group must maintain a Common Equity Tier 1 (CET1) ratio of 10.29%, slightly higher than the 10.27% of September 30, 2024. The requirements include various buffers such as the G-SIB and the Pillar 2 Requirement.
The required thresholds for Tier 1 and Total capital are set at 12.09% and 14.49%, respectively. Finally, the required leverage ratio is set at 3.85%.
BNP Paribas far exceeds these criteria with, as of September 30, 2024, a CET1 ratio of 12.7%, a Tier 1 ratio of 14.7%, a Total Capital ratio of 16.7% and a leverage ratio of 4.4%, against respective targets of 12% and 4.3% for the end of 2025.
