Borussia Dortmund Announces Strong Growth in First Half of Fiscal Year 2023/2024
The German football club Borussia Dortmund has reported a significant increase in its financial performance for the first half of the fiscal year 2023/2024. According to preliminary figures, the club has seen its total consolidated operating income and net consolidated profit grow compared to the same period the previous year.
With gross transfer revenue amounting to 111.2 million euros, compared to 86.6 million euros in the previous fiscal year, Borussia Dortmund increased its total consolidated operating income by 19.3% to 367.7 million euros. The club's net consolidated profit also recorded a notable increase of 71.4%, reaching 70.6 million euros.
This growth is mainly explained by a 15.7% increase in consolidated revenue, reaching 256.5 million euros. This increase encompasses various sources of revenue such as matchday earnings, television marketing, advertising revenue, and merchandise sales.
The group's expenses, including personnel costs and other operating expenses, also saw variations. Meanwhile, the consolidated financial result improved, shifting from a negative result to a profit of 2.6 million euros.
