Brenmiller Energy's Thermal Storage Solution at SUNY Purchase
Brenmiller Energy and the New York Power Authority have released a case study on their thermal energy storage (TES) system at SUNY Purchase College. This $2.5 million pilot project, located in the Physical Education Building, aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 550 metric tons annually. Brenmiller's bGen™ unit demonstrates the effectiveness of TES in enhancing energy efficiency and sustainability in public institutions.
The TES system is part of a combined heat and power application that meets nearly all the building's heating needs. Key advantages include the modular nature of TES, enabling flexible deployment and the integration of existing technologies to improve system reliability. This solution supports decarbonization in education and public infrastructure.
A webinar on May 19, 2025, will present the project findings. The collaboration highlights TES's potential to aid institutions in achieving net-zero emissions, emphasizing the scalability and proven results of the bGen™ system.
