Brick Award 24 Honors International Pioneers in Brick Architecture
The Brick Award 24, organized by Wienerberger AG, celebrated its eleventh edition in Vienna. This biennial event, established in 2004, honors innovation and excellence in brick architecture. The jury, composed of renowned architects, selected five winning projects from 743 entries across 54 countries. These winners highlight the sustainable and innovative potential of brick architecture.
The grand prize was awarded to Níall McLaughlin Architects from the UK for their “International Rugby Experience” in Limerick. Other category winners include Paraguayan studio Equipo de Arquitectura, Argentinian team Estudio Arqtipo, Irish studios Grafton Architects and O’Mahony Pike Architects, and a joint project by Spain's HANGHAR and Mexico's PALMA.
The event also saw the release of “BRICK 24", a book featuring the 50 shortlisted projects, which underscores the timeless and innovative use of clay building materials in architecture.
