WBS Power Sells Germany's Largest BESS and Solar PV Project to Prime Capital
WBS Power GmbH has announced the divestment of Project Jupiter, a significant infrastructure project in Germany, to Prime Capital AG. This project features a 500 MW / 2,000 MWh Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) and up to 150 MWp of solar PV, making it the largest co-located project of its kind in Germany. Managed by Jupiter JVCo S.à r.l., the acquisition is contingent upon reaching a ready-to-build status.
Located in Brandenburg on a former military airfield, Project Jupiter is set to integrate with a hyperscale data center with a planned capacity of 500 MW. This strategic move allows both WBS Power and Prime Capital to harness the robust 380 kV grid connection for energy-intensive data center operations.
Construction is expected to begin by late 2026, with a total investment estimated at €500 million. Partners are expediting procurement to connect to the grid early, demonstrating commitment to sustainable development.
