Career Change: Easier Than Expected, Survey Reveals
A recent survey by The Stepstone Group shows changing career paths is more accessible than commonly believed, with three-quarters of career changers satisfied in their new roles. Despite widespread doubts, a significant 38 percent of respondents reported no challenges during their transition.
The survey, which included nearly 6,300 employees in Germany, found that 69 percent continue in their new chosen fields, enjoying their career changes. The need for career change is underscored by the boom in industry demand: job ads seeking cross-field experience on Stepstone.de have quadrupled over five years.
According to Dr. Tobias Zimmermann of The Stepstone Group, shifting workplace dynamics and a shortage of skilled workers emphasize the value of adaptability. Employees and companies benefit alike, as employees develop new skills and companies find the versatile talent they need.
