Central Bank of Bahrain Grants Crypto.com Payment Service Provider Licence

The Central Bank of Bahrain approved Crypto.com to offer payment service provider (PSP) services through its subsidiary, FORIS GFS BH B.S.C. CLOSED, in Bahrain. This marks a significant regulatory achievement for the company in the region.

The licence allows Crypto.com to expand its e-money and fiat-based payment services in the area, including the launch of its well-known prepaid cards. H.E. Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development, regards this as a step towards Bahrain's vision of a digital-first economy.

Eric Anziani, President and COO of Crypto.com, praised Bahrain's balanced regulation fostering a crypto and fintech ecosystem. Bahrain stands out in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region for issuing crypto-asset licences, enhancing its status as a leader in fintech and crypto services.

Crypto.com continues its global regulatory push, having received licencing in Dubai and other key markets worldwide, including Singapore and the United States. The company aims to further its influence in the GCC region, leveraging Bahrain's supportive environment for innovation.
