Cerrado Gold Inc. Receives Cease Trade Order from Ontario Securities Commission
TORONTO, ON – Cerrado Gold Inc., listed under TSXV:CERT and OTCQX:CRDOF, announced that the Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has issued a failure to file cease trade order (FFCTO) against the company. This order prohibits the trading of the company’s securities in Canada due to Cerrado's delay in filing its 2023 annual financial statements and management's discussion and analysis by the required deadline of April 29, 2024.
The company attributed the reporting delay to additional time needed by its auditors, KPMG LLP, to complete audit quality procedures. Cerrado management emphasized that there is no disagreement with KPMG regarding accounting practices or financial disclosures. They are cooperating with the auditors to expedite the process and expect to file the required documents by May 15, 2024. Cerrado reassured stakeholders that it will provide further updates compliant with securities regulations as necessary.
