CESI Appoints Nicola Melchiotti as New CEO, Confirms Guido Bortoni as Chairman
In Milan, the new board of directors of CESI S.p.A. met under the leadership of Guido Bortoni. Bortoni has been confirmed as the Chairman. The board was renewed by the shareholders on May 29.
During the session, Nicola Melchiotti was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) for the 2024-2026 term. Starting June 1, he will also assume the role of General Manager, succeeding Domenico Villani. Villani will continue as Executive Vice President for the TIC/KEMA Labs Division and Group Sustainability Affairs.
Melchiotti joins CESI with a long tenure at Enel, having held various international positions. He holds an engineering degree from Politecnico di Milano, a master's from CentraleSupélec in Paris, and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
The new board includes members from Enel, Prysmian, Terna, and Hitachi Energy. Bortoni expressed gratitude to the shareholders and committed to supporting Melchiotti in his new role.
CESI has been offering engineering and consulting services for nearly seventy years and is a leader in testing, inspection, and certification through its KEMA Labs Division.
