DWK Deutsche Wasserkraft and OdelEnergy Sign MoU for Hydropower Projects
DWK Deutsche Wasserkraft AG has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with OdelEnergy AS to develop and construct small-scale hydropower projects in Norway with a total capacity of 100 gigawatt hours. This collaboration marks DWK's strategic step towards building a portfolio of small hydropower plants.
The partnership aims to leverage the expertise of both companies. OdelEnergy, a Norwegian project developer, will lead the technical development and implementation, while DWK will focus on capital procurement and management. The initial project financing is estimated at EUR 50 million, with intentions for further projects targeting Norway's varied price zones.
This initiative aligns with DWK's dedication to sustainable electricity sources, emphasizing low-volatility run-of-river power plants. CEO Jan Erik Schulien highlighted the synergy with OdelEnergy as key to unlocking new potentials in Europe's hydropower sector.
