Peng Liyuan and Brazil's First Lady Visit NCPA in Beijing

On May 14, 2025, the National Centre for the Performing Arts (NCPA) in Beijing welcomed Peng Liyuan, the wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping, and Rosangela Lula da Silva, the wife of Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva. Rosangela is accompanying the Brazilian president on his state visit to China. The pair admired the centre's interior and viewed "Stage of Glory," an exhibition highlighting the NCPA's achievements in cultural exchanges between China, Brazil, and other Latin American countries.

Peng emphasized the active cultural exchange between China and Brazil, citing mutual appreciation for each other's cultural icons. In recent years, Brazil's samba and China's Spring Festival have gained popularity in each other's countries. Significant milestones include the 2024 celebration of 50 years of diplomatic relations, marked by agreements and renewed collaborations.
