Cheech and Chong’s Global Holding Company Responds to California’s Proposed Emergency Hemp Ban

In response to Governor’s recent proposal for an emergency ban on hemp products in California, Cheech and Chong's Global Holding Company (CCGHC) has expressed its disagreement. Jonathan Black, CEO, emphasized that a complete ban is unnecessary and does not address the intended issues.

The company ensures its products are designed for adults and undergo strict testing to maintain safety and quality. Products include third-party lab results and are age-restricted, akin to alcohol and tobacco sales.

Brandon Harshbarger, President of CCGHC, underscored the company's commitment to safety and transparency. He advocates for regulations that protect consumer choices while maintaining public safety.

Ted Whitney, Chief Beverage Officer, highlighted the overlooked potential revenue of $210 million from hemp products and called for collaborative regulation instead of an outright ban.

CCGHC aims to dialogue with state regulators to create fair policies that protect consumers and support industry growth.
