Donghai Showcases Crystal and Press-On Nails at Milan Fashion Week

On September 23, 2026, Donghai County brought its crystal and handcrafted press-on nail industries to Milan, Italy. This initiative was part of a significant event held under the theme "Crystal Shines Across the World, Commerce Connects the Future," coinciding with the 10th anniversary of its recognition as a "World Capital of Crystal" by UNESCO. The event aimed to create avenues for Donghai’s artisans to access international markets and collaborate with the global fashion community.

Donghai's crystal industry has a thriving history, with trade revenue hitting 60.6 billion yuan in 2025. The local press-on nail craft, expanding rapidly, accounted for over 70% of China's production, with annual sales reaching 15 billion yuan. These products are now available in more than 30 countries.

The event saw participation from approximately 60 prominent guests. Participants included key figures like Geng Xiewi of the Chinese Consulate and Marco Griguolo, an Italian infrastructure official. New collaborative designs merging Chinese and Italian aesthetics were unveiled, highlighting the potential for cross-cultural partnerships.
