China-India Relations Mark 75th Anniversary with Optimism

This week, China and India celebrated 75 years of diplomatic ties, highlighting benefits of their collaboration. In messages exchanged, Chinese President Xi Jinping and Indian President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the "Dragon-Elephant Tango" as an emblem of their harmonious partnership. Both nations have witnessed positive strides, notably since the meeting between President Xi and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October, aiming at stronger bilateral cooperation.

As major economies, China and India are urged to engage more substantively amid global trade tensions. Collaborative efforts could bring long-term sustainability to current economic orders. Last year, China reclaimed its position as India's top trading partner with bilateral trade hitting $118.4 billion.

Besides trade, cultural exchanges have gained momentum. Direct passenger flights resumed, boosting travel and journalist exchanges. Despite past tensions, recent interactions suggest a crucial stage of improvement in China-India relations.
