Cicor Optimizes Thin-Film Production in Wangs

On October 18, 2024, Cicor Group announced the consolidation of its thin-film technology production in Wangs, Switzerland. This strategic move involves shutting down production in Ulm, Germany by June 2025, aiming to enhance efficiency, flexibility, and risk management. This decision aligns with economic assessments suggesting that maintaining operations in Ulm is no longer viable.

Reinhardt Microtech, operating in Wangs since 1984, will absorb these operations. The Ulm site will continue as a sales and competence center to serve long-standing German clients. This restructuring decision will impact about 30 employees, who are offered relocation or sales roles.

The financial implications include a six-figure CHF impact on Cicor's EBITDA for the current year. However, it is expected to significantly bolster results post-transition, without altering 2024 guidance or mid-term targets.
