HONOLULU, HI – Coffman Engineers, Inc. has recently enhanced its electrical engineering capabilities in Hawaii through an asset purchase agreement with ECS, Inc. The acquisition, formalized on May 8, 2024, unites Coffman with ECS, bringing ECS's founders and seven additional staff into Coffman's fold. The ECS team, including Michele Adolpho, PE, Timothy Higa, PE, and founder Lennox Nishimura, PE, will now operate under Coffman's name.

The acquisition aims to ensure the continuity of service for ECS’s clients and provide long-term career prospects for its employees. Timothy Higa, VP of ECS, highlighted the focus on employee career development and the ability to concentrate more on core engineering functions and mentoring within Coffman's supportive environment.

The synergy between the two firms extends across federal, education, transportation, civic, and local government projects, with many employees from both firms having cooperated for over three decades. The combined expertise is expected to facilitate a seamless transition and integration of ongoing projects. As of May 13, 2024, ECS's operations have been relocated to Coffman's Honolulu offices.
