Cognizant Expands Synapse Initiative to Reach Two Million by 2030

Cognizant has announced an ambitious expansion of its Synapse initiative, aiming to upskill two million individuals by 2030. Launched in 2023, the initiative has already surpassed its original target of one million by 2026. This commitment seeks to address the challenges posed by AI's rapid influence on the workforce, as highlighted by a Cognizant–Oxford Economics study predicting that 90% of jobs will face AI disruption in the next decade.

Through Synapse, Cognizant aims to break down socio-economic and cultural barriers, fostering skills development through diverse partnerships. Key focus areas include jobseeker training, employee-led education, and collaborations with various sectors. Cognizant is also increasing investment in learning resources and social impact initiatives, reflective of its role in enabling global workforce readiness in an AI-driven world.
