Commerce Resources Publishes Paper on REE Mineral Processing Advancements

Commerce Resources Corp., a Vancouver-based mineral resource company, has announced the publication of a significant paper on rare earth element (REE) mineral processing. This research, underpinned by the Ashram Rare Earth and Fluorspar Deposit in Nunavik, Quebec, was detailed in The Canadian Journal of Metallurgy and Materials Science earlier this April.

The paper, exploring the influence of grinding conditions and water quality on REE mineral flotation, signifies a collaboration between Commerce, Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, and the Industrial Waste Technology Centre. Supported by provincial and federal grants, the research utilized around 1.5 tonnes of material from the Ashram Deposit, a site recognized for its substantial REE and fluorspar reserves.

Chris Grove, President of Commerce Resources, expressed gratitude for the company’s role in REE research in Quebec, emphasizing ongoing academic collaborations and contributions toward enhancing Canada's REE sector. The Ashram Deposit, characterized by its surface outcropping, facilitates cost-efficient collection for research, aiding the company's active engagement in advancing REE processing methodologies.

The company underlines its commitment to supplying material and expertise for REE research, aiming to bolster the development of highly qualified personnel in Canada. This aligns with Commerce's vision to emerge as a leading low-cost REE producer, focusing on supplying mixed rare earth carbonate and/or NdPr oxide globally.
