Paris, August 9, 2024 – Compagnie des Alpes has announced that the Tignes Municipal Council has voted in favor of the management of the ski area by a Local Public Company (SPL) from June 1, 2026. The company STGM, a subsidiary of Compagnie des Alpes, will continue to operate the area until the end of the current delegation, i.e. May 31, 2026.

The SPL will take over the ski lift facilities for compensation estimated at around 103 million euros. The 300 employees of the STGM will also be transferred to the new entity. In 2022/23, the Compagnie des Alpes managed to reduce the carbon footprint of the area by 74% compared to 2018/19.

The company confirms that this transition will not affect the operation of the Val d'Isère ski area, nor other DSPs recently renewed. Compagnie des Alpes will continue to invest in ski areas and mountain accommodation.
