Coppernico Metals Engages AK Drilling for Sombrero Project in Peru
Coppernico Metals Inc. has announced a new agreement with AK Drilling International S.A. to commence an initial drilling program at its Sombrero copper-gold project in Ayacucho, Peru. The one-year agreement calls for a minimum of 3,000 meters of diamond core drilling, with equipment mobilization set for July 2024.
The drilling will target skarn-style mineralization along a 2.5 km section of the Ccascabamba Target Area. This initiative is expected to create direct employment and various local contracts while maintaining ongoing agricultural projects for lasting community benefits. Coppernico recently secured $19.37mm in funding, with Teck Resources Limited acquiring a 9.9% interest in the company.
The company also emphasizes its commitment to community engagement, showcased by the donation of a Volvo truck for local use and support for the Agroideas program. Detailed plans and specific drilling locations will be disclosed soon.
