CovationBio Achieves Production Milestone with Xatryx®
Covation Biomaterials LLC announced a significant production milestone for its Xatryx® bioPTMEG. The company has successfully produced its initial commercial batches at their Qidong plant, marking a pivotal step towards sustainable material solutions. In collaboration with INSITE®, CovationBio will debut an innovative athletic insole made from non-food bio-based materials at the NW Materials Show in Portland.
The Qidong plant, operational since August 2026, has achieved mass production on spec, with Xatryx® products meeting industry standards. These advancements illustrate the technical maturity of CovationBio's proprietary processes. The bio-based PTMEG products offer an eco-friendly alternative to fossil-based counterparts, promising reduced greenhouse gas emissions and decreased reliance on non-renewable resources.
CovationBio aims to revolutionize the insole industry by introducing this partially bio-based product, extending the use of non-food bio-based materials into everyday products. This marks a significant step in sustainable material development.
