Sensirion Launches SFM3304-D Gas Flow Sensor for Mechanical Ventilation

Sensirion, based in Stäfa, Switzerland, has announced the global release of the single-use SFM3304-D gas flow sensor, designed for mechanical ventilation. This sensor is engineered to be used close to patients, and it supports applications in smart resuscitation and medication nebulization. It efficiently monitors bi-directional flow up to ±250 standard liters per minute.

The SFM3304-D incorporates a heater to prevent condensation in humid conditions and has improved independence to inlet conditions due to a re-engineered flow path. The sensor features a four-generation newer sensor chip, enhancing diagnostic capabilities and readout speed. It comes individually packaged for contamination protection and allows possible sterilization.

The SFM3304-D, with an improved noise specification and pressure drop, is now available through Sensirion's global distribution network.
