Latvian President Explores Delska's Sustainable Data Center
On February 3, 2026, the President of Latvia, Edgars Rinkevics, visited Delska's newly commissioned data center in Riga, set to launch officially soon. CEO Andris Gailitis and CTO Rihards Kaletovs showcased the facility, discussing its capabilities in AI and high-performance computing (HPC), and its contribution to European digital sovereignty. The center, recognized as one of the most advanced in the Baltics, spans 7,100 square meters and supports up to 250 kW of rack capacity. It can expand significantly, with plans already in motion to scale up to 30 MW.
Sustainability is a key feature, with power sourced entirely from renewable energy. Back-up systems utilize renewable diesel, and waste heat reuse discussions are ongoing with Riga's municipal heating company. The facility boasts advanced cooling technologies and aims for Uptime Institute Tier III Facility Certification by March. The official opening is scheduled for April 8.
