Eiffage Secures €171 Million Contract for Belgian Prison Project
Eiffage, via its Eiffage Concessions division, has entered a DBFM (design, build, finance & maintain) agreement for a new prison in Vresse-sur-Semois, Belgium. Partnering with the Belgian Building Authority and the Federal Public Justice Service, the investment totals €171 million.
The facility, covering 39,000 m2, will house 312 units, with an emphasis on medium-security measures. The project aims for BREEAM Excellent certification, indicating high environmental standards.
Construction will involve a consortium, including several Belgian subsidiaries of Eiffage, along with architects and engineering consultants. Fexim will manage maintenance for 25 years, supported by Sodexo for catering and other services. Completion is anticipated in 2029.
This development marks Eiffage's second major prison project in Belgium, following the Marche-en-Famenne centre.
