Electric Metals Progresses with Emily Manganese Project in Minnesota
Electric Metals (USA) Limited has reported promising interim results from the Preliminary Economic Assessment (PEA) for the Emily Manganese Project in Minnesota. Conducted by Forte Dynamics, the PEA highlights the use of the underhand cut-and-fill mining method, allowing 88% extraction of resources with 89% manganese recovery. This is pivotal for the U.S. to secure a domestic supply of high-purity manganese.
Forte Dynamics, after geotechnical testing, determined underground mining as the most effective method. The company confirmed the extraction and recovery rates as optimal for the Emily deposit, the highest-grade manganese resource in North America. The project is advancing towards a Pre-Feasibility Study, aiming to refine economic projections and develop a processing facility for high-purity manganese products crucial for the EV battery industry.
