Electrovaya's Lithium Iron Phosphate Cell Achieves UL2580 Recognition
Electrovaya Inc., a prominent figure in the lithium-ion battery industry, announces a significant achievement for its Infinity Series Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cells, which have earned the UL2580 recognition. This certification reinforces the safety and reliability of Electrovaya's battery technology, confirming it meets the stringent safety standards for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries used in electric vehicles.
The UL2580 certification requires passing a series of safety tests, including a demanding external fire evaluation. Electrovaya's LFP cells now join its previously certified NMC-based cells in achieving this recognition. According to Dr. Raj DasGupta, Electrovaya's CEO, this milestone underscores the company's focus on delivering safe and reliable energy storage solutions.
Production of these LFP cells will proceed alongside NMC products at Electrovaya's new manufacturing location in Jamestown, New York.
