Emerging Workplace Trends and 2025 Resolutions
The Stepstone Group's recent study involving 8,600 respondents sheds light on evolving workplace trends in 2024 and employee intentions for 2025. With 50% of individuals planning to switch jobs, educators emerged as the leading sought-after profession, driven by increased job offerings within the sector. Notably, there was a 25% increase in educational roles as of November 2024, and healthcare jobs saw a 13% rise compared to pre-pandemic figures.
Career transitioning is gaining momentum. Job postings for lateral entrants have quadrupled over five years, reflecting an openness to non-linear career paths. Changing jobs remains a top New Year resolution for 48% of the respondents, many seeking better salaries and work-life balance.
While 33% of participants intend to stay, citing favorable team dynamics, reducing stress tops their priorities for 2025. Educational advancement and meaningful work are also significant motivators for the workforce.
